Ken's Policy: Traffic Education Vs. Traffic enforcement

The Plan

With this new potential process, tickets would instead serve as a warning that would give the driver three options:

Option A: Pleading responsible and paying the fine. Option A represents the current policy.

Option B: You can plead not responsible and go to court. This option is also the current policy.

Option C: I would create an online program where a driver would punch in their ticket number and their name and then would take a short class (15-20 min) related to their infraction. Once the motorist completes this class and they refrain from any more infractions in the next 2 years, the ticket will not appear on their driving record. An added benefit is that the infraction will not reflect on their insurance policy. The 2 year enforcement window will help ensure that unsafe drivers who are not utilizing the learning aspect of this system are held accountable.
