Creation of a Multi-Agency Task Force - Ken pledges to allocate resources toward the creation of a county-wide, multi-agency task force dedicated to identifying and locating runaway, homeless, and endangered youth. This task force will include law enforcement, social services, community resources, schools, and other key stakeholders in the community in order to legally and holistically address this growing problem.
Understanding the Problem - As a compassionate and educated leader, Ken knows that young people may become runaways, homeless, or endangered for a wide variety of reasons, including abuse. Ken also knows these young people are vulnerable to be targeted by criminal human trafficking organizations, as well as drug dealers. As Sheriff, Ken will ensure that a key focus of the task force is assisting these children in finding the best and safest housing outcome possible for them by continuing to engage closely with community resources. There is no "silver bullet" for this issue and that's why Ken is so focused on uniting various departments and agencies so that our youth have plenty of resources available to them.
• Ken's philosophy is " If we can find them, listen to them, then we can help them."
